Infrared Sauna in Belfast
Relax, recharge and enjoy the restorative warmth of our private far-infrared sauna.
Unlike traditional saunas, which heat the air around you, an infrared sauna uses radiant heat to warm your body more directly. It operates at a lower temperature than many traditional or steam saunas, providing a gentler and more comfortable experience while still encouraging a deep sweat.
At Belfast Wellness Clinic, our private infrared sauna suite offers a peaceful space to step away from everyday demands and focus on your wellbeing.
A private and peaceful sauna experience
Your sauna session is completely private, giving you uninterrupted time to rest and unwind.
Before your session, we will explain how to use the sauna and help you select an appropriate time and temperature. You can also choose an essential oil to complement the experience.
During your session, you can relax in silence, listen to calming music or connect to your favourite podcast or guided meditation. We provide drinking water and towels, together with guidance on hydration and making the most of your session.
Benefits of infrared sauna
Many people use infrared sauna as part of a wider routine supporting relaxation, recovery and general wellbeing.
Infrared sauna sessions may help to:
- promote deep sweating and support the body’s natural detoxification processes
- ease tired, tense or stiff muscles
- support recovery following exercise
- encourage healthy circulation
- reduce feelings of everyday stress
- support skin health
- promote relaxation and more restful sleep
- support general immune and metabolic function
Heat increases circulation to the skin and muscles during a session and encourages perspiration. Some people feel refreshed and energised afterwards, while others experience a deeper sense of calm.
Benefits can vary between individuals and may become more noticeable when sauna sessions are incorporated regularly into an overall wellbeing routine.
Who might enjoy an infrared sauna?
Our private infrared sauna may appeal to:
- people looking for a calm and relaxing wellness experience
- those who find traditional saunas too hot or humid
- active people seeking muscular relaxation after exercise
- people experiencing everyday muscular tension or stiffness
- those interested in supporting detoxification through sweating
- people incorporating sauna into their immune and wellness routine
- anyone wanting some uninterrupted time to rest and switch off
Some clients visit occasionally as a relaxing treat, while others make infrared sauna part of their regular recovery or self-care routine.
What happens during an infrared sauna session?
You can choose a 25- or 40-minute infrared sauna session. If you have not used one before, we may recommend beginning with a shorter session while your body becomes accustomed to the heat.
You will have privacy throughout and can leave the sauna at any time. It is important to listen to your body rather than trying to remain in the heat for a predetermined length of time.
After your session, allow yourself a few minutes to cool down gradually and drink some water before continuing with your day.

Infrared Sauna Frequently Asked Questions
Wear light, comfortable clothing such as swimwear, shorts or gym clothing. Choose something that allows you to perspire comfortably. You will have complete privacy throughout your session.
Drink plenty of water beforehand and avoid alcohol or a heavy meal immediately before your appointment. Remove metal jewellery and arrive without heavy lotions, oils or perfumes on your skin.
Please let us know if you are feeling unwell, dehydrated or unusually sensitive to heat.
Take a few minutes to cool down and rehydrate with water or electrolytes. Your body may continue to perspire gently as it returns to its normal temperature.
We provide aromatherapy wet towels and dry towels to clean and cool you down after a sauna. You can shower whenever you feel comfortable afterwards, ideally using lukewarm rather than very cold water immediately following the session.
This depends on your health, heat tolerance and personal preference. Some people book an occasional session, while others attend once or twice a week. Start gradually and see how your body responds before considering more frequent sessions.
We do not offer infrared sauna sessions to children under 18 or during pregnancy.
Please seek medical advice before booking if you have a heart or circulatory condition, very high or low blood pressure, heat intolerance, a significant medical condition or an implanted medical device. You should also check with your GP if you take medication that may affect hydration, perspiration, blood pressure or temperature regulation.
Leave the sauna immediately and alert a member of the team if you feel dizzy, faint, nauseated or otherwise unwell.
You are welcome to read or use our sound system to enjoy music, a podcast or guided meditation. We recommend keeping phones and other electronic devices outside the cabin, as prolonged heat may damage them.
