Individualised Support
Every person's experience is different, which is why consultations are shaped around your individual needs rather than a predetermined approach.
Your session will include an exploration your medication history, current concerns and personal priorities; review of relevant evidence and treatment options; discussion of medication reduction and withdrawal principles where appropriate; and identification of practical ways to help you communicate your needs and navigate healthcare more confidently.
Our aim is not to tell you what decisions to make, but to ensure you have access to clear, balanced information, compassionate support and the opportunity to make informed choices alongside your healthcare team.
You do not need to be in crisis, experiencing withdrawal or planning to stop medication to seek support.
Sometimes, what you need most is the time and space to ask questions, understand your experiences and explore what matters to you without feeling rushed, judged or pressured towards a particular decision.
A Whole-Person Approach to Your Care
At the heart of Paul’s approach is the philosophy of Whole Person Agency: the belief that every individual deserves dignity, understanding and meaningful involvement in decisions affecting their life.
Paul recognises that good healthcare is not simply about managing symptoms or prescribing medication. It is also about listening, building trust, recognising individual circumstances and supporting people to develop the knowledge and confidence to advocate for themselves.
As a registered and insured pharmacist, Paul provides independent education and non- prescribing support, working alongside existing healthcare services rather than replacing your GP, specialist or prescribing clinician. Any changes to prescribed medication should be planned with an appropriate prescriber.
His role is to walk alongside you, offering knowledge, compassion and practical support while respecting your right to make your own informed decisions.
Your medication is only one part of your story. You deserve to be seen, heard and supported as a whole person.
What does a Whole Person Medicines Support session look like?
Whole Person Medicines Support Initial session are 90 minutes (online or in person).
Sessions are collaborative, non-prescribing consultations that explore your medication experiences, healthcare concerns, wider circumstances and personal priorities. Sessions include:
- 1. Welcome and understanding - Establish what brought you to the session, your concerns and goals.
- 2. Exploring the whole person – Discussion of medication history, current symptoms, previous experiences, daily life, relationships and relevant circumstances.
- 3. Information and options - Exploration of evidence, possible benefits and harms, withdrawal considerations, treatment alternatives and areas of uncertainty.
- 4. Strengthening agency - Identify questions for your prescriber, clarify preferences and discuss appropriate next steps.
- 5. Closing – Summary of the conversation, agreement of follow-up needs and explanation of any written resources or signposting.
The session is not designed to persuade someone to discontinue medication.
It supports informed decision-making, including the option of continuing treatment. Any changes to prescribed medication would require appropriate clinical oversight.
Your voice matters. Your experience matters. Your choices matter.
